Former reality star Josh Duggar transferred to Fort Worth prison

Former reality television star Josh Duggar, who is serving a 12-year federal prison sentence for possessing child pornography, was transferred to the Federal Medical Center in Fort Worth on May 29.

A person answering the phone at FMC Fort Worth directed the Star-Telgram to the Bureau of Prisons media relations email. A request for the reasoning behind Duggar’s move was not immediately answered.

Duggar was formerly held at FCI Seagoville, about 50 miles east of FMC Fort Worth.

Duggar was convicted in 2021, and has continuously argued that his constitutional rights were violated, claiming that he could not afford legal counsel.

A federal judge denied Duggar’s appeal to have his conviction overturned on June 1. Duggar is scheduled to be released in February 2033.

According to the Federal Bureau of Prisons, FMC Fort Worth is an administrative security federal medical center with a detention center, and that all inmates receive medical, dental and mental health services.

Joseph Maldonado-Passage, more widely known as Joe Exotic from the Netflix series “Tiger King,” is also incarcerated at FMC Fort Worth. He was convicted of hiring someone to murder animal activist Carole Baskin. Maldonado-Passage. Maldonado-Passage is serving a 21-year sentence and is scheduled to be released in April 2036.
