A woman was shot in the chest on Thursday morning at a south Fort Worth apartment by a person whom police took into custody.

The woman was fired upon about 7 a.m. in the 2800 block Walton Avenue, according to a Fort Worth police spokesperson.

The victim was taken to a hospital in a stable condition, police said.
