Police arrested a man Monday evening after a brief standoff at a Richland Hills house.

The man, whose name has not been released, had barricaded himself in a house he was trespassing in on the 2800 block of Dogwood Park Drive. Reports indicated the suspect was pointing a firearm out a window.

Richland Hills police responded to a report of the man trespassing inside the home at 4:34 p.m. It was the same home where an ongoing arson investigation is taking place relating to a fire on May 2. The man is also a suspect in that case, which is being investigated by the Tarrant County Fire Marshal’s Office.

Police established a perimeter and entered negotiations with the man. After a brief standoff and the deployment of a less lethal device, he left the house and was taken into custody.

The suspect was taken to the Joint Detention Center in North Richland Hills after being medically cleared by paramedics.

He is facing multiple pending charges including criminal trespass, deadly conduct and unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon.
