Police arrest two murder suspects in drive-by killing of Fort Worth 15-year-old
Police on Monday arrested two people on suspicion of murder in the killing earlier this month of a 15-year-old boy in south Fort Worth.
Cesar Horton, 20, and Kamron Lampkin, 19, were booked in connection with the April 2 drive-by shooting death of Prince Washington.
Washington was shot in the chest at his house in the 6700 block of Glenbrook Lane.
Police did not immediately release the arrest warrant affidavits in the case.
James Washington left his bedroom after the shooting stopped, as did his son, Prince, who was bleeding, the father told the Star-Telegram in an interview.
“He said, ‘Dad, I just got hit,’ and he walked right here and collapsed,” James Washington said, gesturing at a spot on the living room floor. “He stayed alive maybe about two minutes, just breathing real hard, and died.”
Prince and his father had lived in the neighborhood for three months prior to the shooting, which left the house riddled with bullet holes.
“He was a great kid,” James Washington said of his son. “He loved the Lord, and he did what’s right.”
The teenager was a student at South Hills Highs School, where played on the basketball team.
