Two men died after exchanging gunfire during an argument Wednesday afternoon in Grand Prairie, and two other suspects are in custody, police said.

Officers responded to a shooting in the 2400 block of South Carrier Parkway near West Pioneer Parkway about 2:30 p.m. They found a wounded man in the parking lot, police said in a news release. He was taken to a hospital for treatment but died from his injuries.

A second injured man fled the scene, according to police. He also died a short time later at a local hospital.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the men who died as 23-year-old Charles Ray Edwards and 20-year-old Nicholas Dayshawn Mills.

Investigators determined the two men had gotten involved in an argument “that escalated into an exchange of gunfire,” the release states. An acquaintance also pulled out a gun and fired at one of the men before leaving the scene with an accomplice.

The man who fired the gun and his accomplice — both 18-year-olds — were later arrested and face a capital murder charge, according to police. They’ve been identified as Cameron Mills and Jeremiah Anderson.
