A 30-year-old teacher at a charter school in Little Elm sexually abused a student, police alleged on Thursday as they announced his arrest.

Eric Moore, who lives in Frisco, abused the student at North Texas Collegiate Academy’s East campus in the 1800 block of Oak Grove Parkway, Little Elm police said.

Moore was arrested on suspicion of continuous sexual abuse of a child and indecency with a child by sexual contact, police said.

The student on Jan. 7 reported that he or she was the victim of the crimes, and police began an investigation.

The Denton County school on Jan. 7 placed Moore on administrative leave, and he later resigned, police said.

Police said they are working to be certain the affected children and their families are connected with appropriate resources.
