Assailants took man’s wallet and shot him as they rode in vehicle in Fort Worth

A man reported to police that he was riding in a vehicle with other people in south Fort Worth on Friday when they took his wallet and other items and shot him.

The man suffered two gunshot wounds to his legs, Fort Worth police said.

About 10:30 a.m., the victim yelled that he had been shot and banged on doors in the 8500 block of Garden Springs Drive for help, police said.

The victim’s injuries are not life-threatening, and he was taken to a hospital, police said.

The vehicle was found abandoned on the west side of Fort Worth. It had been reported stolen.

Police had not identified the assailants early on Friday afternoon.
