Police on Tuesday arrested a suspect on suspicion of murder in the 2022 killing of a 17-year-old Crowley High School track runner who was shot to death at an after-prom party in Fort Worth.

Robert Taylor, 23, was booked at the city jail in connection with the death of Rashard Guinyard, who was shot in the head and died on a sidewalk.

From a maroon Honda Civic, multiple shooters fired upon a crowd of teenagers about midnight on April 24, 2022, in the 3800 block of Altamesa Boulevard, Fort Worth police have said.

Guinyard was shot to death as he and others tried to walk or run from the party, police said.

Police did not describe a motive or release evidence that they believe supports the arrest, and they have not announced other arrests in the case.

Guinyard had signed a letter of commitment to run track at Abilene Christian University.

Two weeks before his killing, Guinyard finished in fourth place in the 200-meter finals at the district championship. He finished fifth in the area championship and was preparing for a regional meet in Lubbock.
