Fort Worth police are asking for the public’s help to find a hit-and-run driver who killed a pedestrian on Interstate 35W early Sunday morning.

Officers responded to a call on I-35 southbound at the East Belknap Street exit at about 2 a.m., police said.

When officers arrived, they found a man down in a lane of traffic. Investigators determined that the man was struck by a driver who left the scene, police said.

The man was taken to a hospital, where he later died, police said. Police have not identified a suspect, and a description of the vehicle has not been released.

The person who died will be identified by the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office.
