Drunken man drove wrong way into vehicle on I-30 in Fort Worth, police say

A motorist was arrested on Sunday on suspicion of intoxication assault in connection with a collision on Interstate 30 in Fort Worth, according to police records.

Gary Morton, 45, was booked on two counts of intoxication assault with a vehicle causing serious bodily injury and one count of driving while intoxicated.

Two vehicles collided about 7:30 p.m. on westbound I-30 near Interstate 35W.

One of the vehicles appeared to have been traveling in the wrong direction on the interstate, WFAA-TV reported, citing a police account.

Three people in the vehicle with which police allege Morton collided were injured and taken to a hospital.

A Fort Worth Police Department spokesperson did not respond to multiple requests from the Fort Worth Star-Telegram for information on the collision.
