Fort Worth police are looking for the driver who crashed a vehicle into six parked cars at a Near Southside apartment complex Wednesday and ran from the scene.

Officers were called to the Broadway Chapter apartments at 401 Hemphill St. near downtown shortly after 3 a.m. Wednesday. The cars were parked along Hemphill Street, police said, and a damaged white 2016 Fort Expedition thought to be the suspect’s vehicle was abandoned nearby.

Nobody was in the vehicles when the incident occurred, and there were apparently no witnesses. Police said they’re reviewing video footage from a business in the area.

Amanda Alexander told KXAS-TV that her brand-new car was one of the damaged vehicles. She’d spent the night with a friend at the apartment complex and left the car parked on the street.

“[I] came outside and it looked like … a little bomb went off,” she said to KXAS.

The investigation is ongoing.
