A man is in custody Friday after he allegedly attacked someone with a knife and barricaded himself inside a nearby home, Fort Worth police said.

More than 20 police units were dispatched to the 2300 block of Jasper Street starting around 12:20 a.m. Friday, according to the 911 call sheet. A man had entered the house and cut another man with a knife. It’s not clear how badly the person was injured.

The suspect managed to get to a home in the 4000 block of Zwolle Street and refused to come out, police said. Multiple SWAT officers responded to the house, and the man was arrested while trying to sneak out the back.

The suspect, 42-year-old Joe Flores, was booked into the Fort Worth City Jail. He faces a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, according to police records.

The Criminal Investigations Unit and Gang Unit were notified of the incident, police said.
