Male passenger shot and killed while riding in a car in Fort Worth, police say

A man riding in a vehicle was shot and killed in South Fort Worth on Saturday, Oct. 11, police said.

Officers responded to the shooting about 6:35 p.m. at the 2700 block of Woodmont Trail, police said.

When officers arrived at the scene they found a man lying on the ground with an apparent gunshot wound to the torso. The man was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

Homicide detectives determined that the man was a passenger in a vehicle traveling near the intersection of the 6500 block of Brookhaven Trail and Altamesa Boulevard, when an unknown suspect fired multiple rounds from a separate vehicle, police said.

The suspect vehicle fled the scene in an unknown direction, police said. No arrests have been made.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office will identify the man who was killed.

The investigation is ongoing, police said.
