A woman last year gave birth at an east Fort Worth apartment building, put her newborn in a suitcase, rolled it to a dumpster and left the baby, law enforcement authorities have alleged.

Police last week arrested Courtney Minor, 36, on suspicion of capital murder of a person under 10 and abuse of a corpse.

The infant died at the La Hacienda Apartments in the 4700 block of East Lancaster Avenue on July 14, 2024, Fort Worth police said.

Minor ultimately confessed that the baby was alive at birth, and that she put the suitcase, with the baby inside, in the dumpster, police said. She had also been seen rolling the suitcase, police said.

Police did not respond Monday to a request to release the arrest warrant affidavit in the case, which Crimes Against Children Unit detectives investigated.
