Man killed in shooting in Diamond Hill area of north Fort Worth, police say

A man was fatally shot Wednesday afternoon in north Fort Worth, police said.

Officers responded to the 3100 block of Ray Simon Drive, in the Diamond Hill area, about 4 p.m. after someone said their boyfriend had been shot by a stranger, according to the 911 call log. The area is a residential neighborhood not far from Interstate 35W.

Police said they found the man with a gunshot wound to his upper body. He was taken to a hospital for treatment, but later died from his injuries.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office will publicly identify the man and officially determine the cause and manner of death.

No suspects have been arrested, according to police. Homicide detectives are investigating. Further information about the shooting was not immediately available.
