After being shot, man drives to Fort Worth hospital and collapses in parking lot
Early Monday morning, a man drove himself to John Peter Smith Hospital after he was shot in the hand at an unknown location, according to Fort Worth police.
Officers were dispatched to JPS about 8 a.m. after receiving a 911 call about the shooting, a police spokesperson said.
The victim had been staying in a Motel 6 at 4200 South Freeway, in south Fort Worth, and was shot at an unknown location after he left the motel, police said.
The man drove himself to the hospital, but collapsed in the parking lot, Fort Worth police said. A passerby found him, and he was taken into surgery for a non-life-threatening injury.
Police are investigating what led to the shooting. No arrests have been announced.
