Southlake police seek suspect in attempted armed robbery Tuesday
Southlake police are asking for the public’s help identifying a suspect in an attempted robbery that occurred late Tuesday morning, according to a statement.
Police responded to the parking lot of a jewelry store in the 2500 block of East Southlake Boulevard at around 11:20 a.m., according to the statement.
The victim told police he had arranged to meet with the suspect to sell an item, police said. During the transaction, the suspect drew a handgun and the victim fled into the jewelry store to call police.
The suspect is described as a Black male with a thin build, wearing a ski mask, a gray button-up shirt over a black T-shirt, black pants and black shoes, police said.
After the attempted robbery, the suspect fled the scene in a white four-door sedan, which police believe could be a newer-model Nissan Versa or Altima.
The car had no front license plate and may have body damage to the rear quarter panel, according to the statement.
The vehicle was driven by a second person with no known description, police said.
The victim was not injured during the attempted robbery.
