Three people were shot early Sunday at the same time and location in west Fort Worth, police said.

Two men were pronounced dead at the scene in the 4200 block of Lisbon Street, according to police.

The third person was taken in critical condition to a hospital after the shooting about 3:15 a.m., according to a spokesperson for MedStar, an emergency medical service agency.

The shooting scene is in the Alamo Heights neighborhood, just north of the 4200 block of West Vickery Boulevard, east of Hulen Street and west of Montgomery Street. At least two houses on Lisbon Street were struck by gunfire.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office identified one of the victims as 28-year-old Christian Trevino. In social media posts, family members identified the other man who died as Trevino’s cousin Jesse Hernandez.

On a GoFundMe page, Trevino’s mother, Lucy Aguilar, wrote that Christian was the oldest of her five children and had been released from prison in January.

“After coming home, he got work after so many turn downs and did his own tattoo work on the side,” Aguilar wrote. “Chris was my heart of the family. I was so amazed and proud of him coming home and getting his life together. I was so happy my life was finally starting to feel complete again, having my family all together.”

She said that she last saw her son on Saturday, which was her birthday.

“This is going to be the hardest for me,” she wrote. “It’s not fair to have to bury your children.”

Fort Worth Police Department Homicide Unit detectives on Sunday night arrested Garrett Orais, 24, on suspicion of capital murder of multiple people in the case.

Citing the ongoing investigation, police declined to release the affidavit supporting the arrest warrant for Orais. Police have not described a motive for the shooting.

Abner Castro, 53, was sleeping at the house on Lisbon Street where he lives and woke to the deep voice of a man arguing. Castro could not distinguish the words.

He said he heard six or seven shots.

He got on the floor.

“Everything went quiet,” Castro recalled.

He did not hear the burning rubber of a fleeing vehicle. Or screams.

Neighbors said that the shooting occurred outdoors and no one inside of houses was injured.
