Fort Worth ISD baseball coach arrested on child indecency allegations from previous school
A baseball coach at a Fort Worth high school was arrested Wednesday on allegations of sexual abuse and an improper relationship with a student when he worked with another Texas school district, officials said.
Twenty-nine-year-old Adrian Buruato turned himself in on Wednesday, March 12, the Hill County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release. He was booked into the Hill County Jail and held on a $300,000 bond.
According to the release, the Sheriff’s Office received a complaint March 10 alleging that Buruato had an improper relationship with a 15-year-old Itasca student during the 2023-24 school year. At that time, Buruato was employed by the Itasca Independent School District.
According to a news release from Itasca ISD, Buruato worked at the district from July 2023 to July 2024. He was the head baseball coach and assistant football coach and taught middle school social studies.
Buruato is currently listed as the head baseball coach for O.D. Wyatt High School in Fort Worth ISD.
“As this is a personnel matter, the District is unable to disclose any further details,” a Fort Worth ISD spokesperson said Friday, March 14.
The Itasca district said it notified Fort Worth ISD as soon as the allegations against Buruato came to light.
“Itasca ISD is committed to providing a safe and secure learning environment for all students,” the district’s release states.
The Sheriff’s Office investigated the allegations and obtained warrants for Buruato’s arrest on charges of indecency with a child-sexual contact and improper relationship between an educator and student, the release states.
Investigators are concerned about the possibility of other victims, according to the release. Anyone with information about this case is asked to contact the Hill County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division at 254-582-5313.
