North Texas water polo coach arrested on child sexual assault charges, police say
Southlake police arrested a 26-year-old man Wednesday on three charges related to sexual contact with a child.
The man, Adrian Joseph Maher, of Roanoke, was accused of the abuse while working as a coach for a private water polo club, police said in a news release.
Maher faces charges of aggravated sexual assault of a child, indecency with a child/sexual contact and online solicitation of a minor, police said.
No further information will be released due to the nature of the investigation and the victim’s age, police said.
Maher was fired from his position with the water polo club after the allegations were made, according to the statement.
He is being held in the Tarrant County Jail and his bond has not been set, police said.
Parents with children who may have interacted with Maher are urged to contact Southlake Police Detective Roberson at 817-748-8235 if they suspect abuse.
