A former North Texas school psychologist pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 35 years in prison for possession of child sexual abuse material, the Tarrant County Criminal District Attorney’s Office said on Monday, Feb. 3.

Christian Rewoldt, 66, was sentenced to seven years on each of five counts of possession of child pornography, the district attorney’s office said.

Rewoldt worked as a contracted school psychologist in Crowley ISD at the time of his arrest in 2023.

The investigation into Rewoldt began after Mansfield police detectives received a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, the Star-Telegram previously reported.

A search conducted at Rewoldt’s home in August 2023 turned up various electronic devices suspected of containing material that depicted the sexual abuse of children, police said.

Mansfield police and Crowley ISD officials said there was no evidence at the time to suggest that Rewoldt had any inappropriate contact with children.
