Separate shootings Sunday morning in Fort Worth injure 2; 1 suspect arrested, police say
Two people were injured and one suspect was arrested during separate shootings in Fort Worth on Sunday morning, Jan. 26.
Around 6: 51 a.m. officers responded to the intersection of Cypress Street and East Presidio Street in the homeless district to a shooting call, Fort Worth police said.
Officers located a person with a wound to a leg. Investigators believe that the suspect constructed an apparatus that fired some type of projectile that caused the injury, police said.
The victim has been transported to an area hospital for treatment and the suspect is in custody, police said.
In the second shooting, officers responded to 6000 block of Rayburn Drive in the Wedgwood area around 9:45 a.m., police said.
When they arrived at the call location officers found a victim with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the arm.
Investigators believe that an armed assailant entered the location and fired a gun, and then fled the scene, police said.
The victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment.
The details surrounding both shootings are still being investigated and the Gun Violence Detectives have been notified for both incidents, police said.
