A 33-year-old man was killed and four others injured in a road rage crash Jan. 2 on Interstate 20 near Weatherford, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.

Around 8:51 a.m., a Honda CRV entered I-20 eastbound directly into the left lane of traffic in front of a Jeep Wrangler just outside of Weatherford. The Jeep then went around the CRV and hit his brakes, officials said.

The driver of the CRV, a 21-year-old woman from Springtown, changed direction to avoid a collision and lost control. The CRV rolled into the westbound lanes and landed upright.

She and three other passengers sustained minor injuries. Cosme Espinoza of Lancaster was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.

Espinoza, the driver and another passenger were thrown out of the vehicle, officials said.

Officials said the man who drove the Jeep exited his vehicle and saw the injured people before he fled the scene.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Parker County Crime Stoppers at 817-599-5555 or at www.parkercountycrimestoppers.com.
