1 dead, 2 wounded in Christmas Eve shooting in north Fort Worth, police say

One person is dead and two were wounded in a shooting during a robbery at a north Fort Worth home on Tuesday, Dec. 24, police said.

Officers responded around 3 p.m. on Christmas Eve to the shooting at 7513 Berrenda Drive, west of Interstate 35W and north of Basswood Boulevard.

Police said the investigation is ongoing and confirmed that it was a homicide.

When officers arrived at they located multiple people with gunshot wounds in the area, police said.

One person was pronounced dead on the scene and two were transported to an area hospital. Their conditions are unknown at this time, police said.

Police said detectives are working this case as an attempted robbery in which both victims and suspects were shot.

No arrests have been made at this time, police said.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the person who died as 17-year-old Jaqualin Houston.
