A North Texas man has been arrested on charges related to the Jan. 6, 2021, riot at the United States Capitol, officials with the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Washington, D.C., said in a statement.

Daniel Dustin Deneui, 51, of Colleyville, was charged in a criminal complaint with numerous crimes related to the riot, officials said.

Among the charges are assaulting, resisting or impeding certain officers and disorderly conduct in a Capitol building, according to the statement.

Deneui is seen in third-party video trying to break window shutters near the Senate Wing Door, as well as hitting officers with a flagpole, officials said.

The case is being investigated by the FBI’s field offices in Fort Worth and Washington, and assistance was provided by the U.S Capitol police, according to the statement.

Since Jan. 6, 2021, over 1,500 people in almost all 50 states have been charged in connection to the riot, officials said.
