Police chase ends in crash between officer and uninvolved vehicle on Texas 114
A police chase that started in Roanoke ended in a crash on Texas 114 in the town of Westlake on Friday morning, Dec. 13, according to a statement from the Roanoke Police Department.
Roanoke police were notified of a suspicious vehicle on Morningside Drive at about 11 a.m., according to the statement.
The vehicle was believed to be associated with catalytic converter thefts around the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex, officials said.
A Roanoke officer found the vehicle and attempted to make a traffic stop, but the driver did not yield and proceeded northbound on U.S. 377, according to the statement.
The vehicle turned east onto Highway 114 and the chase continued into Westlake, where the officer collided with a third, uninvolved vehicle, police said.
The suspect vehicle was not involved in the accident and continued driving, according to the statement.
The Roanoke police officer and the driver of the uninvolved vehicle were evaluated by medics at the accident scene and did not need to be transported to the hospital, officials said.
The suspects were eventually apprehended by the Grapevine Police Department, and the investigation remains ongoing, police said.
