22-year-old man killed in shooting at Fort Worth’s Highland Hills Park, police say

A 22-year-old man died in a shooting at Highland Hills Park in south Fort Worth on Friday evening, police said.

Officers responded to the scene at 1600 Glasgow Road around 5:45 p.m. Friday, Dec. 6, and found the victim with a gunshot wound to his upper torso, police said.

Medical personnel attempted to resuscitate the man, but he was pronounced dead on the scene, according to a statement from the Fort Worth Police Department.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office identified him as Jaylon Jeffery, of Fort Worth.

Detectives found that several people had been involved in an argument and fight prior to the shooting, police said.

The unidentified suspect fired once and fled the scene in a vehicle, according to the news release.

No arrests have been made, and homicide detectives have taken the lead on the investigation, officials said.
