Man killed in shooting found in car at north Fort Worth apartment complex Sunday
A 40-year-old man who was killed in a shooting was found at an apartment complex in north Fort Worth on Sunday afternoon, officials with the Fort Worth Police Department said.
Officers responded to the Garden Gate Apartments at 6901 N. Beach St. at 3:15 p.m. on Dec. 1 and found a man who had been shot inside a car, police said. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the victim as Christopher Dwight Sanders. Police said he had a gunshot wound to his upper body.
The preliminary investigation determined that Sanders and at least one other person were in the car when the shooting occurred in the 5700 block of Mark IV Parkway. The car stopped in the parking lot of the apartment complex, about three miles away.
No arrests have been made in the case as of Monday, Dec. 2.
Detectives with the Fort Worth Police Department’s Homicide Unit are leading the investigation and interviewing witnesses to find out what led to the shooting and try to identify a suspect, police said.
