Police chase on Interstate 35 ends with cruiser plowing through a fence

A suspect is in custody after leading Fort Worth police on a high-speed chase on Interstate 35 West on Friday, a spokesperson for the department said.

The chase began at around 4:30 p.m. when officers located a vehicle that had been reported stolen, the spokesperson said.

Officers attempted to stop the vehicle and the driver did not comply, prompting officers to give chase, according to officials with the department.

Aerial footage from a WFAA-TV helicopter shows the the stolen vehicle exiting the highway onto Avondale Haslet Road.

The driver then exited the vehicle and fled on foot, jumping a fence, according to the video.

A Fort Worth police cruiser drove through the fence and in front of the suspect, forcing a surrender, the video shows.

No one was injured in the incident, according to the police spokesperson.

The identity of the suspect was not immediately available on Friday night.
