Campus police issue safety bulletin after 2 reports of sexual assault in TCU dorms
TCU police have issued a public safety bulletin after two students reported being sexually assaulted in campus housing.
Both assaults were reported the weekend of Oct. 26, but the first one took place around three weeks ago, according to the bulletin. It involved “a known individual who was a guest of another student.”
The second assault occurred over the weekend of Oct. 26 when a student sexually assaulted another student in campus housing, police said.
“The only person responsible for a crime is the perpetrator,” police said in the bulletin. “No action or inaction by the survivor makes the survivor responsible for the act.”
Police remind campus residents that it’s against university policy and a crime to engage in sexual acts without consent.
Victims of sexual assault or another crime can get help and support through the following campus resources:
The Campus Advocacy, Resources & Education Office: 817-257-5225.
The Counseling & Mental Health Center: 817-257-7863.
The Dean of Students Office: 817-257-7926.
TCU employees who are the victim of a crime can receive help through the Employee Assistance Program connected with Human Resources.
A spokesperson for the university declined to comment on the alleged assaults Wednesday, citing the investigation.
