A man was shot through the ankles by an unidentified suspect Friday, Oct. 25, Fort Worth police said.

Officers responded to a shooting call in the area of Illinois Avenue and Bessie Street, in south Fort Worth, shortly before 1 p.m. The victim received two gunshot wounds, according to police, and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

The suspect is still at large, police said. Gun Violence Unit detectives will investigate the shooting.
