Grand Prairie police are investigating a fatal accident caused by a suspected drunk driver on early Saturday, Oct. 19, officials said.

A Toyota passenger car with hazard lights on was headed north in the 4500 block of S. Highway 360 around 1:40 a.m. A GMC SUV traveling in the same direction crashed into the back of the slower moving Toyota, police said in a news release.

The Toyota’s driver died at the scene. The driver of the SUV, 20-year-old Hector Garcia, was arrested for intoxication manslaughter, officials said.

Garcia is being held in the Grand Prairie Detention Center on a $200,000 bond, according to the release.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner hasn’t publicly identified the victim. The investigation into the fatal collision is ongoing, police said.
