19-year-old injured in east Fort Worth shooting; suspect in custody, police say

A 19-year-old woman was injured in an east Fort Worth shooting the night of Oct. 8, police said, and a suspect is in custody.

Officers responded to the 6500 block of Desert Prairie Drive after a woman called 911 around 8:15 p.m. to say she’d been shot. Multiple units were dispatched to the location, according to the 911 call sheet, and officers were able to locate the victim.

The 19-year-old was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to police.

A suspect was booked into the Fort Worth City Jail a few hours later.
