Fight at north Fort Worth nightclub leads to shots fired, police chase, 3 crashes
A fight at a north Fort Worth nightclub on the night of Oct. 6 led to shots fired, a police chase and several car crashes.
The Sunday night incident started at a club near 2550 N.E. 30th St., according to Fort Worth police. Investigators said two large groups of people got into a fight and one group was forced to leave but returned a short time later.
Another fight broke out, and armed members of both groups got into their vehicles. The occupants of a gray Dodge Charger shot at a group in a white SUV, which caused the SUV to crash into a pickup truck, police said.
Officers responded about 11:15 p.m. to the shots fired in the 2400 block of Salisbury Avenue.
The Charger fled with officers in pursuit, and the driver of the car crashed it into a utility pole in the 3100 block of the Interstate 35W service road, police said. The driver of the Charger was arrested, and a passenger was soon taken into custody after he ran from the car, police said.
The passenger was treated at a hospital for non-life-threatening injuries, and everyone else involved was examined by medics on scene.
A police car that was responding to the call also was involved in a crash with another vehicle, police said. The officer and the other driver were not injured, according to police.
