Dallas officer arrested, charged with sexual assault of a child, police say
A Dallas police officer was arrested by Arlington police this week, accused of sexually assaulting a child, according to a news release.
Officer Brennon Wilkinson, 28, was taken into custody Monday, the release says. He faces charges of aggravated sexual assault of a child, indecency with a child/sexual contact, and indecency with a child/exposure.
The officer was arrested in Arlington, but police say the charges are from Little Elm, in Denton County. Arlington officers with the U.S. Marshals North Texas Fugitive Task Force found Wilkinson after Denton County authorities notified them he was wanted.
Wilkinson was transferred to the Denton County Jail, with bond set at $200,000.
Wilkinson has been with the Dallas Police Department since 2020 and is assigned to the North Central Patrol Division, according to police.
He has been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of an Internal Affairs investigation, police say.
