A woman was in critical condition and a man was found dead after what police called a domestic-violence shooting at an apartment building on Main Street in Burleson.

Officers were called to The Depot on Main Apartments, at 125 N. Main St., about 2 a.m. Monday, Burleson police said in a news release.

Officers first found the female victim, who was taken to a Fort Worth hospital. Officers then went to the apartment where the shooting occurred and found a man dead inside that apartment, according to the release.

Police said that their preliminary investigation “indicates that this is an isolated incident related to domestic violence.”

Police said they are not looking for any suspects.

The man who died was identified by the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office as 21-year-old Jose Antonio Gomez. An autopsy is pending to determine the cause and manner of his death. Gomez lived at the apartment where his body was found, according to authorities.

Anyone with additional information about the shooting may contact the Burleson Police Department at 817-426-9903.
