Fort Worth police ask for help to ID suspect who shot gun, stole cash from gas station
Police are asking for the public’s help identifying a masked suspect who fired a gun inside a Fort Worth gas station the night of July 20 and stole cash from the cash register.
A man wearing a gray and black hoodie and with the bottom part of his face covered entered the Murphy’s Express gas station in the 3000 block of E. Berry Street shortly after 10 p.m. The suspect pushed an employee toward the safe and then ordered him to open it, Fort Worth police said in a news release.
The employee said he didn’t have access to the safe. The suspect pulled out a pistol and fired one round into the counter. Several people were in the store at that time, according to police, but no one was hit.
An employee opened the cash register, and the suspect stuffed the cash into the pocket of his hoodie. He then fled the gas station on foot and was last seen running west on Burton Avenue, police said.
The suspect is around 5-foot-7 to 5-foot-10 inches tall and of a slender build, police said.
Anyone with information about the suspect or the robbery is asked to call 817-392-4380 or the Tarrant County Crime Stoppers tip line at 817-469-8477.
