Domestic dispute leads to shooting at Fort Worth apartment complex, police say
A shooting at an apartment complex Thursday evening stemmed from a domestic dispute that left a woman injured, Fort Worth police say.
At around 6:30 p.m., officers and first responders were dispatched to the Valley at Cobb Park Apartments at 1701 East Robert St. in response to a shooting.
A caller reported a possible domestic dispute involving the discharge of a firearm and that the victim, an adult woman, and the suspect, an adult male, got into a vehicle and left the apartment complex.
Upon arrival, officers found the vehicle in question in the 1800 block of East Lancaster Avenue and stopped the car, detaining both the man and woman.
The victim had a non-life-threatening injury on the back of her neck, but refused treatment at the scene and was not cooperating with authorities, according to police.
The suspect was also not cooperating and was arrested on an unrelated charge. He is being transferred to the Fort Worth city jail.
The incident will be referred to the Family Violence Unit for investigation.
