1 dead, 1 critically injured in shooting in northwest Fort Worth, authorities say

One person died and another was critically injured on Tuesday when they were shot at the same time in northwest Fort Worth, authorities said.

The victims were shot about 5:30 p.m. in the 2400 block of Irion Avenue.

Alfredo Martinez, 43, was arrested on suspicion of murder, according to a Fort Worth police record.

MedStar, the region’s ambulance service, took the victims to a hospital.

The motive and circumstances leading up to the shooting are still unclear, a police spokesperson said Wednesday.

Police have not released the gender or age of the victims. The person who died will be identified by the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office.
