Person shot while attempting to burglarize vehicle in south Fort Worth, police say

One person is in critical condition after being shot in south Fort Worth early Sunday, according to police.

Officers were sent to the area near Hemphill and West Bolt streets around 2:50 a.m. after a report of a shooting, police said. They found a person at the scene with a gunshot wound.

Investigators think the gunshot victim had burglarized a vehicle with people inside and was shot by one of the occupants.

The injured person was taken to a hospital and is in critical condition, police said. Gun violence detectives are investigating the shooting.
