One dead, one critical after shooting Monday night in Fort Worth’s Northside

One person is dead and another is in critical condition after a shooting in Fort Worth’s Northside on Monday evening, according to MedStar and police.

Police were called to the 1000 block of Northwest 16th Street around 5:40 p.m. Monday for a shooting. When they arrived they found the victims in critical condition.

MedStar took the victims to the hospital, where one of them died and the other was still in critical condition Monday night.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the man who died as Samuel Sosa Campos Jr., 51. He was killed by a gunshot wound to the head.

Police said details surrounding what happened leading up to the shooting aren’t known yet and haven’t said whether a suspect has been identified or is in custody.
