A 25-year-old woman was sentenced to 25 years in prison after she pleaded guilty to a deadly 2018 robbery at a Fort Worth grocery store, Tarrant County District Attorney Phil Sorrells announced in a social media post Friday.

Sonja Jones was one of four people who robbed a Save A Lot grocery store in Fort Worth on Jan. 11, 2018, according to the post.

Jones accompanied Marquis Sypho, who shot and killed 26-year-old Raymond Huerta, the post said.

Raymond Huerta was visiting his wife, store employee Jackie Huerta, when two men — Sypho and Tyderion Berry — entered and began to rob clerks at gunpoint.

Raymond tried to intervene and was shot multiple times. He died trying to protect his wife, Jackie Huerta told the Star-Telegram in 2018.

Sypho was found guilty of capital murder in March 2023 and is serving a life sentence without parole. Berry was sentenced to 25 years in prison after pleading guilty to murder in November 2023.
