Man making delivery killed, 1 injured in Fort Worth attack Saturday; suspect in custody

A man who was making a delivery at a home in southwest Fort Worth was killed by a suspect who attacked him Saturday night, according to police.

Officers responded to the 3900 block of Wendover Drive around 8:40 p.m. after reports of an assault, according to police. When they arrived, they found one man dead with injuries to his head and upper body. Another victim, a resident who witnessed the assault, was also attacked and taken to the hospital and has since been released.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the victim as Scotty Edward Jackson, 51. He died of blunt force injuries to the head and neck.

The suspect, Chrisantus Omondi, 27, was still at the scene and was stunned with a Taser by police. He was arrested and faces a murder charge, according to police records.

Police have not described a motive for the attack or said what the victim was delivering to the home.

Homicide detectives are investigating.
