Missing North Texas woman found after family receives ransom calls, texts
The 27-year-old Arlington woman whose family received calls and texts suggesting she was being held for ransom has been found safe, Star-Telegram media partner WFAA-TV reported Thursday.
Amber Garcia, 27, had been missing for a week when police Thursday asked for the public’s help in finding her. She’d last been seen after DeSoto police briefly took her into custody Dec. 1 for a misdemeanor, then released her later that same day, WFAA reported.
There’s no word on where or how she was found.
Her mother started getting phone calls and texts on Dec. 3, suggesting that Garcia was being held for ransom. Police announced around 5 p.m. Thursday she’d been found and was being reunited with her family.
