Police investigating Fort Worth shooting that left man dead in apartment

Police are investigating the death of a 51-year-old man after officers were dispatched to a deceased person call Aug. 7 in west Fort Worth, according to a police report.

When officers arrived in the 2700 block of Haystack Boulevard around 9:15 a.m. on Aug. 7, they found a man dead in an apartment.

According to the report, the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office informed investigators on Friday that the man had been shot and his death was a homicide.

While the police report includes the name of the victim, the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office has not publicly identified the man.

The police report does not indicate that any arrests have been made.

Police have not yet responded to a Star-Telegram request for more information.
