17-year-old fatally shot by another teen in Arlington gas station parking lot, police say
An 18-year-old man is accused of fatally shooting a 17-year-old after an argument outside an Arlington gas station Sunday night, police said.
Officers responded just before 8:20 p.m. to a QuikTrip station in the 4900 block of Little Road. They found the 17-year-old victim with multiple gunshot wounds inside a car parked near a gas pump, police said in a news release. The victim, identified as Brad Gruver, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators spoke to witnesses and reviewed surveillance video. Detectives learned that Gruver and the suspected shooter, Taymour Makarem, got into an argument, during which Makarem pulled out a gun and fired multiple rounds into the victim’s car, police said.
“It appears he and the victim knew each other and have been feuding for some time,” police said in the release.
Three other people were in the car with Gruver. None of them were injured.
Makarem ran from the QT station near Interstate 20 and U.S. 287, and officers found him nearby at the intersection of Treepoint Drive and Paces Trail, police said. He was arrested and booked into the Arlington City Jail on suspicion of murder. He was in the Tarrant County Jail on Monday with bond set at $100,000, according to jail records.
