Talia Fields died of a gunshot wound in the chest, according to the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office. She was slain about 3:15 a.m. in the 4200 block of Andrea Lane.

Forest Hill police have not announced an arrest. This investigation was highly active on Monday, and a police spokesperson declined to say whether the male assailant was on foot or in a vehicle when he fired.

He had a shirt tied around his head and has large tattoo on his chest, police said.

About an hour after the killing, someone fired shots that struck property in the 6000 block of Maiden Lane, less than a mile away. Police did not describe the property.
