Woman shot in back when argument outside business turns violent, Fort Worth police say

A woman was shot in the back during an argument in east Fort Worth on Thursday night, police said.

Officers were dispatched to the 4000 block of East Lancaster Avenue around 10:45 p.m. They found a woman with a gunshot wound to the back, officials said. She told police she and the suspect had gotten into an argument while sitting outside a business, and he pulled out a gun and shot her.

The suspect fled the scene on foot. The victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment, and police said her injuries are not life-threatening.

The Gun Violence Unit will investigate the shooting, officials said.
