Fort Worth police find man shot to death at home after caller reported an intruder

A man was found dead with gunshot wounds on Thursday at a far west Fort Worth home when officers responded to a call about a home invasion, according to a police spokesperson.

A 911 caller reported to a dispatcher that a female resident shot an intruder, according to a police call log. But officers later learned that the man went to the house at the homeowner’s request and the woman shot him after an altercation, police said.

Officers were dispatched about 4:30 p.m. Thursday to the home, in the 700 block of Basset Locke Drive. They found the homeowner outside.

The man who was shot was pronounced dead at the scene. A police report identified him as Andrew Holland, 28, of Grand Prairie.

Police have not announced any arrests. It’s unclear whether the homeowner will face any charges.

The homicide unit is investigating.

The Fort Worth Fire Department and MedStar personnel also responded to the scene.
