A person was shot in Bedford on Tuesday night during a meeting to exchange goods, police said.

The person, a male whose age police did not release, was shot about 8 p.m. in the 300 block of Bedford Road.

Two people arranged the encounter through an online buy-sell platform, Bedford police said. During the meeting, an altercation occurred and one of the people was shot.

The victim was taken to a hospital in a private vehicle and was being treated for his injuries.

Police processed the scene and collected information to determine each person’s role in the incident. Police did not announce an arrest.
